Question..... *Updated

Do you let your toddler stand up in the bathtub, or do you try to make them sit?

*updated. I know this must have been an issue with Monte and Hunter too, I must have blocked it out. Carter has just recently started taking a bath in the "big boy tub", and after 5 minutes wants to stand up. And it isn't even the standing that bothers me, it's the slipping and hurting himself like so many of you said. I just get tired of telling him to sit down and putting him back on his bottom every 3 seconds. So I get him out.

And totally not related, but Carter keeps pinching the back of my arm when he nurses. OUCH!!!

I pretty much let Gray do whatever he wants in the tub as long as he's not hurting himself!

And ouch- those tiny pinches are the worst!!

Nope, no standing here. Now all I have to do is give the "look" and Landon sits right back down and doesn't get back up until the bath water is out and I ask him to stand to wrap the towel around him.And I've told him so much now that he rarely will stand now. I'm always scared he will slip and bust his little mouth!

I'm not a fan of the standing but sometimes it's whatever keeps them happy! For a while there Lex would scream every time he had a bath and the only thing that helped a little (aside from me getting in with him) was to let him stand up. Now that he enjoys the bath I prefer him to sit. If he stands up he's apt to try to run and then there's the slipping when he steps off the bath mat. Plus he tries to climb out. Kind of like a game.

No standing, but I don't yell anymore cuz that just makes it more fun. I just take her out and she screams (while freezing) and says "I no san up!" Then she gets back in.

No standing here, except once I pull the plug and let the water drain - then she knows to stand up for the bottom washing. TMI? :)

I used to let The Baby stand until she slipped one time and cracked her head on the bathtub - she was all right but now she has to SIT.
Those pinches! OW! That's why some moms wear those fussing necklaces while they nurse.

I do not let the Beast stand up! If she keeps standing up then I tell her it's time to get out. I'm afraid that even though I'm right there, she can slip and crack her head..when water's involved, those slips happen quick!

Ethan has a tub chair that he sits in cuz you're right, he could hurt himself.

Those pinches are THE WORST!

We put a non-slip mat in the tub so that helps with the slipping. I let my kids do whatever as long as they don't get me completely soaked! LOL!

Zachary did the pinching thing and I just take him off every time he hurts me. That way he learns that there are rules associated with eating, even if it's at the breast! He stopped and now he sweetly caresses my arms while nursing. Good Luck!
