It's All About The Bugs

The thing about bee stings is that after they stop hurting, they itch. BAD. And for awhile too. I haven't been stung since I was like 6 years old, so I guess I forgot this. And no, I didn't get stung Saturday, but I did on Labor Day. Saturday they were just swarming my coffee and Carter's banana. One even landed on his cheek. So I chucked my coffee and the banana, and he ate Cheerios. Much less tasty for the bees.

And what is this bug? I found it on the pool when the boys were at school. And Hunter being the animal/bug lover that he is I caught it for him. Even you non-bug lovers out there have to admit he is a cutie!

Oh that's a leaf bug! I am sure that's not the official term, but he's supposed to look like a leaf. So cute! This time of hear we always have praying mantises around our house and they are SO COOL! We do have an interesting menagerie of bugs out this way...

Definitely not a bug person, but that one is pretty cool. I don't know if we have those around here, I haven't seen one before. Interesting!

I've only seen those at the science center, since they're not native to my area. Isn't he spiffy?

That's a katydid. Those are very cool looking bugs. We have a book on bugs here and the boys read it like it's going to produce gold! I love those photos! Thanks for sharing, I'm going to show the boys tomorrow morning when they wake up! They will be so excited!

What mom's of boys have to do huh? My fear of bugs and insects are slowly starting to (miraculously) vanish.

The expression on that bug's face (can bugs have expressions?) reminds me of the grasshoppers in Bugs' Life. Hilarious!

Ha ha! That bug looks like he is posing for the pic. I am not a huge bug fan, but that little guy is cute.
Thanks for the pics.
